The last time the Midshipmen had beat the Fighting Irish in competition, President Kennedy was still breathing. 43 years of loss, a lifetime of many filled with sorrow and regret, all ended on this day in 2007.

Somewhere below the depths, the USS Thresher lets out a shriek, signaling a brief return from their eternal patrol. The line between past and future begin to blur.
